i call myself mari (which in italian means “seas”) because i hate my whole name, mariella. i started swimming before talking, at the age of three, and i firmly believe i’m a fish out of water. i studied humanistic subjects at the secondary school and, after that, art and photography. i changed often burrow: i lived in london, turin and now i’ve settled temporary in milan, with luggage at my feet, always ready to move somewhere else. and maybe start again where i began. i try to express my personal universe using everything that sparkles and shades in my life. to me, taking picture is like breathing, something that i cannot live without: it’s the only way i know to digest my empathy.
